Roundtable Discussion: Come workshop your questions!
Sharing fundraising ideas and comparing strategies with peers have been extremely helpful tools for fundraisers in today’s ever-changing landscape. On Wednesday, October 27th, WIDGB hosted its first ever Virtual Roundtable Discussion in which attendees could pick three out of five breakout room topics. The topics of discussion included Recruiting & Onboarding in a Virtual World, Small Shop Fundraising, Planned Giving, Communications, and Foundation & Corporate Grant Fundraising. Takeaways included to how a small shop can schedule and prioritize stewardship in a packed Development calendar, essential planned giving language to include on your organization’s website, the most effective way to communicate your nonprofit's impact through success stories, and more!

Thank you to the facilitators of this Roundtable Discussion: Molly Richter (Assistant Director of Development, Mass General Brigham), Carmen Chan (Director of Philanthropy, Just a Start), Liz Cahn (President, Gift Planning and Fund Raising Services); Coralys Negretti (Director of Marketing and Communications, YW Boston), and Risa Shames (Principal, RS Consulting).

The Pulse of Fundraising - June 2021

Our workplaces, the communities we serve, and our donors are finding themselves in transition yet again as the Commonwealth re-opens after almost 15 months of closures and hybrid-services. Here are a few articles to help you navigate fundraising and the workplace as we find our new normal.

Throughout the pandemic we saw exponential growth in digital fundraising. Here are a few examples of what a few organizations are doing right online.
Quote: Post-covid, showing up to raise money will no longer mean always showing up in person. Rather it means show up as a person.
How fundraising has changed (or not changed) due to the pandemic is still very much in debate, but Abby Falik, founder of Global Citizen Year explores what this might mean for many of us moving forward: “Post-Covid, showing up to raise money will no longer mean always showing up in person. Rather it means showing up as a person.”

One thing is clear for sure. There is no going back. Here are a few ways that the nonprofit sector can meet this moment in time.
While we continue to adjust our strategies and provide the resources our communities require, it’s important that we remember to take care of ourselves and each other.
